Charlie Miller Owner/Lead Instructor

Charlie has been a Firefighter for 18 years and is currently a Fire Captain for the City of Ukiah FD. He also serves as a Division Chief in charge of the Search & Rescue Division of All Terrain Water Corporation; providing Confined Space Rescue standby services all over the western united States. Charlie is certified to teach several California State Fire Marshal classes as well as all Rescue 3 International courses through the Instructor Trainer level. He is a state level Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Train the Trainer instructor. Charlie also has an extensive background in all U.S.A.R. disciplines. Along with fellow instructors Ron Roysum, Nathan Vagt and others, Charlie was named a Higgins & Langley Award recipient for his actions during the City of Ukiah New Years Flood of 2006.


B.C. Mike Haberski Adjunct Instructor



Mike Haberski is a 30 year veteran of the California Fire Service.  He moved through all ranks to the position of Battalion Chief with the Petaluma Fire Department unitl his recent retirement.  Mike is a registered instructor with State Fire Training.  His training specialties include; Incident Command System, company level command and management classes and firefighter safety and survival disciplines.  Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree from the California State University Long Beach and is a contributing author to numerous fire service publications including Fire Engineering.  Mike is a true believer in training as a means to professional perfection, aka,Dont Practice on the Public.


Ron Roysum Adjunct Instructor



Ron is a Captain with the Hopland Volunteer Fire Department. He specializing in teaching Swiftwater Rescue, High/Low Angle Rescue techniques and all other U.S.A.R. disciplines. He has many years experience rafting and guiding on rivers all over California. Ron works full time as a Construction Foreman building commercial buildings in and around Sonoma County. His construction background has made him an invaluable member of the C & C U.S.A.R. instruction team. Along with Charlie, Nate and others, Ron was named a Higgins & Langley Award recipient for his actions during the City of Ukiah New Years Flood of 2006.

Mike Mather Adjunct Instructor

 

After 20 years on the water, Mike is one of the most experienced and entertaining rescue professionals in the River Running/River Rescue industry. Having taught courses all over the U.S. and in Europe, Mike has an unconventional approach to his subjects. Mike excels at keeping topics clear, accessible and applicable for rescue professionals, experienced boaters and novices alike. He specializes in Water, Confined Space and Rope Rescue disciplines.


Jaimee Crabtree Adjunct Instructor

Jaimee is a retired Battalion Chief. He recently retired after over 30 years with CDF/CALFIRE. Jaimee specializes in instructing our ICS and S series courses, and is certified to teach too many California State Fire Marshal courses to mention here! He has extensive experience at the Strike Team Leader and Division Group Supervisor levels of the Incident Command System.


Chris Delcour Adjunct Instructor



Chris comes to us from the Woodland Fire Department. Chris is a Fire Captain with Woodland FD and has over 15 years experience in the fire service. Chris also holds the position of Battalion Chief with All Terrain Fire & Rescues Confined Space Standby program. Chris specializes in U.S.A.R. as well as structure/wildland fire
instruction disciplines.


Wesley David Adjunct Instructor



Wes began his career with the Ukiah FD, he now work for the City of Santa Rosa as an Engineer and Acting Captain. He has 13 years experience. Wes is a certified Rescue 3 International Water and Rope Instructor as well as a CSFM Rapid Intervention Crews and Tactics Instructor.


John Corippo Adjunct Instructor



John was recently promoted to the position of Fire Captain with the City of Ukiah FD. John has 12 years experience in the fire service. He is a Hazardous Materials Specialist, and instructs all of our hazmat classes.


Mike Stewart Adjunct Instructor

Mike has over 12 years in the fire service. He is a Firefighter Paramedic at the City of Ukiah FD. Mike also works as an instructor for the Sonoma County Division of Fire Services, assisting small volunteer fire departments in learning new techniques. He specializes in G.I.S. for the fire service as well as anything dealing with emergency communications. Mike also owns and operates Canyon Rescue Gear. Kirk Thomsen Adjunct Instructor



Kirk is the Division Chief of EMS and Training with the City of Ukiah FD. Kirk has over 17 years experience. He has vast knowledge and experience in technical rescue as well as firefighting and hazardous materials response. Kirk comes to us from Michigan where he served as an Assistant Fire Chief, and technical rescue team leader.



Nathan Vagt Assistant Instructor
 

Nathan is a Firefighter Paramedic with the City of Santa Rosa FD. Nate has been in the Fire Service for 9 years. He specializes in Swiftwater Rescue Techniques, and structural firefighting.
Along with fellow instructors Charlie Miller, Ron Roysum and others, Nathan was named a Higgins & Langley Award recipient for his actions during the City of Ukiah New Years Flood of 2006.



Grant Armstrong "G" Assistant Instructor




Grant ("G") is a Firefighter/EMT for CALFIRE out of the Mendocino Ranger Unit. He is a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT with the City for Ukiah FD. Grant has only been in the fire service a short time, but he has shown the ability to assist with our fire and swiftwater classes. Students will get to know Grant very well since he serves as our #1 victim for all swiftwater scenarios.

Grant also has worked for Whitewater Adventures as a raft guide & safety swimmer in the summer at our Cache Creek SRT location.
