River & Flood boat Operator

River Location To be announced (within 30 minutes of Yuba City)
Class Times: 0900-1700 or later each day
Class Cost: $375.00

This class is an intensive three-day, 24 to 30-hour class. It has one day of classroom instruction followed by two days developing and practicing boat handling skills such as those that were necessary during rescue operations at Hurricane Katrina.
Classroom information includes; Risk Management for the 1st responder, PPE, Hydrology, Rescue SwimmerTechniques from Vessels, Navigation Rules, & Static and Dynamic Equipment needs.
Hand on Techniques include; Man Overborad procedures, Confined Space Vessel Manuevering, High Speed obstacle Avoidance, Crewmember Functions and Duties, Vessel Maintenance, Water Recovery Techniques, Towing techniques, & Boat Flips & Rights.
Upon successful completion of this class you will receive a certification from Rescue 3 International as a River & Flood Boat Operator.
This is not a Rescue 3 International Swiftwater Boat Operator Course.
EMT’s receive Continuing Education credits also.
Equipment requirements: Full wetsuit or drysuit, type 3 or 5 personal flotation device, lightweight climbing or water helmet, hard sole wetsuit booties, gloves
Prerequisites: Rescue 3 International SRT Unit I
18 years of age or older
Basic swimming ability
Adequate health insurance coverage
Good physical condition
