This format has 5 to 8 hours of classroom presentation followed by two and one-half days of hands-on skill development, demonstrations, featuring high line systems over class 5/6 whitewater and a mock night river rescue scenario (2nd or 3rd day). This class builds on the skills learned in Rescue 3 Internationals Swiftwater Rescue Technician Unit I and those taught in technical rope classes such as California State Fire Marshals Rescue Systems II. It is strongly suggested that students study the SRT Unit I manual prior to attending this class.

The pre-requisites are being in good physical condition, having a basic swimming ability, adequate health insurance coverage, completion of SRT 1 within the previous three years, and a certificate from a recognized technical rope rescue program. If the rope course is not known to Rescue 3 International, course objectives and a skill record must be submitted prior to the course so that it can be determined if that course includes all the required skills. Interagency technical rescue training can also be accepted with a Record of Technical Rope Training form being signed by an authorized departmental officer prior to the class. Emergency Medical Technicians receive CE credits also.

Equipment requirements:    Full wetsuit or drysuit, Rope Gloves, Lightweight water or  climbing helmet, Water Booties, USCG-approved lifejacket/PFD (Type III or V), Headlamp & Flashlight. A full body NFPA compliant harness is recommended.
